Voters in Miami-Dade are not shy in expressing their opinions on the candidacy of Governor Ron DeSantis for President of the United States. While the majority of Miami-Dade County residents are passionate supporters of DeSantis’ governorship, his presidential campaign is falling sharply on the less popular side of the scale.
The data reveals an interesting insight on the reactions to the candidacy of Governor DeSantis. A survey conducted by the Miami Herald in which more than 1,000 Miami-Dade voters were asked about their perception of the governor’s presidential potential, the polling data showed that less than a third of the county’s voters would feel better off with the Governor in the White House.
The opinion of the Miami-Dade residents does not mean that they do not support DeSantis as governor. Most Miami-Dade voters think of the governor much more favorably than on a national scale. As the survey data shows, the general outlook of DeSantis’s presidential bid has been negative. A majority of the Miami-Dade County voters, 56% to be precise, had an unfavorable opinion of the governor’s presidential run.
The survey makes it clear that the residents of Miami-Dade support DeSantis as a Governor, but not as a President of the United States. DeSantis’ presidential candidacy has been met with an underwhelming response from the Miami-Dade voters. With so much growing uncertainty and challenging times ahead, there is now a clear difference between DeSantis’ presidential bid and the overall performance of his governorship. The survey reveals that Miami-Dade voters are certainly not on board with the presidential aspirations of the governor of their state.
