In the wake of President Trump’s major defeat in the 2020 U.S. Presidential election, his team of lawyers is now attempting to investigate the U.S. government’s handling of potential election fraud claims.
The legal team, led by former New York Mayor Rudy Giuliani, is reportedly plowing through vast amounts of evidence, which they claim to have gathered from different sources across the country. At the same time, the president’s advisors are exploring unusual legal methods, such as suing the federal government, in an effort to challenge the election results in key battleground states.
Some of the Trump’s supporters have clung to claims of voter fraud, without any real evidence to back them up. Despite this, President Trump’s team has still chosen an aggressive approach when it comes to contesting the outcome of the election.
The President’s lawyers have begun legal proceedings in multiple states, asking for access to voting records and auditing procedures, in an effort to discern if any claims of fraud or irregularities have any merit. Most of the legal proceedings have been blocked by state courts, who have rejected the cases on the basis that the Trump team provide insufficient evidence.
So far, the Trump Administration has declined to comment on the legal process and whether they plan to appeal any of the court decisions. For now, it appears that the Trump team is doing everything does they can to expose alleged election fraud, while at the same time avoiding the ire of the courts.
