The fight on climate change has been at the center of the Biden Administration’s agenda since the start of the new presidency. Now, the fight against fossil fuels is being bolstered by a new coalition of Biden Administration alums that are joining forces with Bloomberg Network to make their voices and positions on the matter heard.
The coalition, referred to as the “Energy Innovation Network,” is made up of a bipartisan group of civil servants who have worked on energy and environmental policy in the past, and is being spearheaded by former Biden Administration Energy Secretary Jennifer Granholm and former EPA Administrator Gina McCarthy. The aim of the outfit is to end US dependence on fossil fuels and replace them with clean, renewable energy.
The Energy Innovation Network is pursuing an aggressive agenda of advocating for public policies and private investments to move the US away from fossil fuels and towards cleaner energy sources. The coalition will work with state and local government to ensure that responsible and equitable policies are implemented that promote clean energy.
In addition, the Network is pushing private industry to meet the need for low-carbon technologies and investments that will increase the use of renewable energy in the US. Through its partnership with Bloomberg Network, the Network and its hundreds of supporters will be launching a series of campaigns and initiatives to raise public awareness about the dire consequences of the US’s continued dependence on fossil fuels and encouraging the adoption of policies that encourage investment in low-carbon technologies.
The Energy Innovation Network’s effort to fight against dependence on fossil fuels is one of the most powerful manifestations of the Biden Administration’s commitment to climate action. By uniting a diverse group of alums from the Administration and joining forces with a leading environmental advocacy group, the Network is hoping to make an impact that drives us closer to a carbon-free future.
